Community First has developed a wide range of successful initiatives that are now helping many Cambodian villagers by improving the quality of life in the villages in rural Siam Reap province. To date, over 1,300 individuals are directly benefiting from our programs.
We believe that in order to effectively fight poverty, it is critical to address three areas of impact: Social, Economic, and Environmental. To ensure long-term, sustainable success, each of our initiatives addresses at least two of these three components. Our programs never focus on a single aspect of poverty. All are planned to reinforce each other. As examples: (1) the malaria nets produced provide income and fight malaria, (2) our gardens provide supplemental income and improve nutrition and (3) our public health program provides much needed medical care as well as job training.
